Collection: Kukui Collection

This collection was inspired by the Kukui nut tree. Also known as the candlenut tree, the Kukui Nut tree had many uses throughout Hawai’i.

A few uses include the oily kernels from the nuts being used for light and ‘inamona (relish), and the soft wood for building canoes. Polished nuts are strung in leis; the silvery leaves and small white flowers are also strung in leis.

The kukui was also named the official emblem for the State of Hawaii in 1959 because of its many uses and its symbolic value.
